“How can my customers with disabilities get into the salon styling chair?”
Rose Zvonik – Salon Chair Footrest Inventor
Customers with disabilities cannot get into a salon styling chair. In 1995 I saw this happening many times as I was working in a Nursing Home. I also saw it in Assisted Living Facilities. After watching aides attempt to lift residents into the chair I decided that there had to be a better way.
The idea of the present-day footrest came to mind. I began the search for a manufacturer. In the beginning, a company in Maryland was our first supplier. Later we were approached by a company in Minnesota with a better offer and a better product. We continue to use this company as our manufacturer.
To be able to allow people with physical disabilities access and egress properly from the salon styling chair is truly a dream come true.
We all like to look and feel our best. Who doesn’t feel better after a good haircut or getting your hair washed? Everyone deserves this ability. Regardless of age or physical impairments we should enjoy the pleasantries of life. We want to continue to look and feel better every day. Our footrest allows that to happen with ease. Simply replace the standard “U” shaped footrest that comes standard on most styles of salon chairs with our salon footrest. It easily attaches in just a few minutes. With the pedals in the upright position it allows for transfer to the chair from a standing position with a walker or crutches and from a wheelchair. When entering from a wheelchair simply align the wheelchair with the open area of the pedals and stand, pivot and sit in the styling chair.
Many of our customers all over the country are now enjoying an easier method of getting into the salon styling chair. It is simple to install and economical as well. Our footrest fits most styles of chair that attach beneath the seat area toward the side of the bottom of the cushion. Our footrest fits styles by Belvedere, Takara/Belmont, and Pibbs just to mention a few.
Upgrade the chair that you have without the expense of another chair. Some locations have purchased standard designed chairs and find that their residents cannot access those chairs. We have the answer. We would like to count you in our family of happy salons with chairs that help everyone.
